Call for Applications: 5th ASEAN Foundation Model ASEAN Meeting in Bangkok, 4-9 July 2019
For the first time ever, the ASEAN Foundation will host a delegation of 14 Australian students to their Model ASEAN Meeting programme as part of the Australia Now ASEAN 2019 . AFMAM brings together tertiary students from across ASEAN for an intensive six day program of workshops, diplomatic training and interactive ASEAN meeting simulation. AFMAM is a fantastic way to better understand regional diplomacy and how Australian and ASEAN decision-makers work together to address key regional challenges.
Call for Applicants: Australian Delegation
This year, as part of the Australia Now ASEAN 2019 program, Australian students have the opportunity to join their ASEAN peers for the first time in a Model ASEAN – Australia Meeting.
Australian students will be selected to join each ASEAN national delegation and represent Australia in a unique simulation of the ASEAN-Australia meetings, including simulation of ASEAN – Australia Senior Officials Meeting, ASEAN – Australia Ministerial Meeting, and an ASEAN – Australia Summit.
Australian students will participate in the full program of online workshops, ASEAN diplomacy training, ASEAN meeting simulation and visits to relevant institutions. This is a unique opportunity to see ASEAN-Australia relations in action and connect with over 150 fellow tertiary students across the ASEAN region.
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, via the Australia Now ASEAN 2019 program will support fourteen Australian students to participate. This will include: return economy flights to Bangkok, accomodation for 7 nights and conference costs including meals.

Application Process for Australian Delegates
To be eligible applicants must be Australian citizens enrolled as an undergraduate at an Australian university or conducting study as part of the New Colombo Plan.

*Return economy airfares from your city of study to Bangkok based on the shortest and most economical possible route on non-endorsable tickets will be provided.
*International travel and accommodation arrangements will be made directly between the ASEAN Foundation and selected students.
*If you are an NCP Scholar as of July 2019 the NCP Secretariat will grant the relevant leave of absence approval.
*All selected delegates will be responsible for ensuring they hold the relevant visas to attend the AFMAM. Any additional visas required are at delegates own costs.
